Welcome to ShitoKan

Japanese Budo -- The Way to Stop The Conflict

Text Box: ShitoKan is an effective self-defense and fitness training program devoted to helping each and every student realize their own personal excellence.  Classes are energetic and challenging, set in a supportive, encouraging and non-competitive atmosphere.

The benefits of ShitoKan training are many and valuable.   Strong focus in one’s training leads to an alert and clear mind.   Perseverance and effort lead to a strong body.  A new understanding of breathing leads to a deep spirit.  These benefits which are gained by the student in the traditional dojo (training hall) become a part of the student, enriching every aspect of their daily life.

ShitoKan is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reaching out to the community by offering a genuine and sincere program with the highest standards that will benefit both children and adults.

Interested students are invited to a trial class and interview.

Text Box: During 2004 trip to Japan, Dr. Aiello visited Honno Ji in Kyoto, and met with Kabuhashi Sensei, attended morning service. Dr. Aiello was inspired the history and tradition of Honno Ji, and Oda Nobunaga, the Shogunate, who reorganized the structure of Japan in 16th Century. Honno Ji is one of the main temples of Hokke Shu.          While there through this inspiration, Dr. Aiello developed a new kata titled DairyuJi no Kata. Honno Ji is defined as a temple of instinct, and DairyuJi is Kabuhashi Sensei’s home temple, defined as a temple of great evolution. Out of respect and friendship to Kabuhashi Sensei, Gassho.
